Being Self-Employed

March 16, 2008 By Sherra Leave a Comment

Being self-employed and working from home has its advantages and disadvantages.  For instance, if I don’t feel like getting dressed one day, no one but my 14 month old will know that I didn’t get out of my PJs until just before my 7 year old got home from school – which is, of course, an advantage.  But, being self-employed, I’m also responsible for all my own taxes.  So, instead of only having to pay my 7.65% of Social Security & Medicare taxes, I now have to pay 15.3% (my part and the employer’s part).

Here are some funny YouTube clips someone made me aware of that I found funny in regards to being an employee vs. self employed.
